Meaning:
The municipality was formed by a merger of Dietenhausen, Dietlingen, Ellmendingen, Niebelsbach and Weiler on 30 March 1972. Its name means "wine pressing", and thus all the charges are alluding to viticulture, which had been a common business line of all former municipalities. Especially in Dietlingen and Ellmendingen there still exist wine presses as part of the local heritage.
