Malsburg-Marzell Coat of Arms

Shield Argent, issuant from base a mount Vert, topped by a castle ruin Gules, flanked on slopes by two firs Vert stemmed Sable.
Meaning:
The ruin is taken from the arms of former Marlsburg Municipality and is a lifelike representation of Sausenburg Castle. The Sausenhart shire incl. Malsburg was acquired in 1232 by the Margraves of Hachberg, who erected the castle in 1240. The younger branch of the kin since then took the name Hachberg-Sausenberg. Firs and mount are taken from the municipal arms of Marzell, also being a part of the Lordship of Sausenberg in the past.

The arms were approved on 2 August 1974 by Minister of Interior of Baden-Württemberg, published in GABl 1107/1974. The banner was approved on 25 october 1993 by the county administration, published in GABl 1302/1993.
