Shield parted per fess; above Argent a laurel wreath Vert, flanked abased by two heraldic roses Gules, seeded Or and barbed Vert; beneath Gules, in fess a mural crown Argent at dexter and a camp coronet (German: Lagerkrone) at sinister, on middle base point a heraldic rose Argent, seeded Or and barbed Vert.
Meaning:
Together with the current arms in 1651 also had been granted two mistreated men, holding their proper skins, as supporters, a helmet and a crest, all from the personal arms of Voit of Salzburg. These were abolished in 1819, but still sometimes used in the 20th century. The roses are taken from the older seals of the city, which displayed three impending red roses since 1391, flanking the Rosenberg castle. Those seals had been completely canting. The laurel branch symbolises the bravery and the victory over the Swedish Army in the 30-Years War. The two coronets are canting symbols representing the city and the Swedish encampment. The city was sieged various times between 1632 and 1634. Otto Hupp displayed in the 1920ies both coronets golden and with a ribbon around the wreath.
