Oberharz at Brocken Coat of Arms

Shield Argent, issuant from base a triplemount Vert, charged with three shortened barrulets wavy Argent, issuant from mount two firs Vert, between the firs a stag salient Sable, in chief hammer and mallet Sable.
Meaning:
The triplemount is representing the ridges of the Harz. The firs are representing the local environment. The stag is symbolising celerity, power and the renovation of life. He is also symbolising the riches of wildlife animals and referring to the fact that the area had been the hunting ground of German emperors and kings in the early medieval. Hammer and mallet are symbolising mining and metallurgy as important business lines.
