Shield Or, a wheat sheaf Vert of six ears, in base a bar wavy Azure and beneath a watermill's wheel Sable with seven paddles, in chief a cap Gules scarved Sable and Gules, also known as "Little Red Riding Hood".
Meaning:
The ears are representing the six former municipalities: Schrecksbach proper, Röllshausen, Holzburg, Schönberg, Salmshausen and Trockenbach. The bar wavy is symbolising Schwalm River, the paddles are representing the former watermills alongside the river: Furtmühle, Losemühle, Eichemühle, Kranzmühle, Brückenmühle and the two mills of Röllshausen. The cap is part of the "Schwälmer Tracht", a traditional costume (an image can be seen within source).
