Description of coat of arms:
On a green shield are two silver (=white) upright horns.
Meaning:
According to source the horns are a traditonal emblem of the village of Gescher. It is said, that bishop Erpho of Münster gave in the 17th century proclaimed a message to the inhabitants, that they had gained the right of hunting. It is also said, this would be an urban legend. More probably the horns have been taken from the arms of the local kin of van der Becke. The image is known from seals since 1421.
