Shield Gules a sea lion Argent over three 6-point stars Or ordered 2:1.
Meaning:
The sea lion is taken from the family arms of the Barons of Imhof, local rulers for a long time. They gave off their rights as citizens of Augsburg and were elevated to Imperial Barons (Reichsfreiherren) in 1685. The family lived in Untermeitingen since 1575. The stars are taken from the arms of the Gollenhofer family. Since the 10th century the Bishopric of Augsburg was the local ruler. The above mentioned families had been vassals of the bishopric. The red colour is alluding to the bishopric.
