Shield Gules, three barley ears Or on the peaks of a triplemount issuant Argent.
Meaning:
Since 1334 respectively 1341 prints of local seals displayed an eagle issaunt from a hill (Southern German: Bühl), accompanied by four grain ears. In the 14th century the eagle appeared alone, in the 15th century he held an inescutcheon with ears and hill. The inescutcheon later was placed upon the eagle's breast and omitted since the 19th century. The eagle referred to the representatives of the emperor, ears and hill had been a symbol of the citizens. Details of the arms changed frequently, especially the shape of the hill as simple mount or triplemount, also its tincture, sometimes golden, sometimes green and sometimes silver, finally the colours of the stalks had been green sometimes. Sometimes the arms have a French shield. The arms are canting as Dinkel is a special kind of barley, here growing on a hill.
