Argent a plough gules and in a chief of the same a lion passant or.
Željko Heimer, 24 June 2003
The tool on the flag of Aranno is a plough (in Italian aratro). The name of the commune
probably derives from the latin name ara (which means altar) but the tradition and popular opinion
want it to derive from arare (to plough), hence the presence of this tool on the arms and flag.
