Quartered Azure and Or a Cross counter-changed.
Željko Heimer, 20 October 2001
The banner of the arms is "quartered azure and or charged with a cross quartered or and azure".
This was the very old coat of arms of the former League of the Ten Juridictions (Zehngerichtebund).
Colours: blue-yellow.
Pascal Vagnat, 29 November 1998
[Communal flag of Davos (early 19th c., 123x136 cm).
Blue cross on yellow. In the first quarter a councillor, holding a treaty in his right, the left hand raised
to swear. In the third quarter William Tell with crossbow and arrow.
The flag probably dates from the
Helvetic period, as indicated by the figure of Tell, which was particularly
popular at the time. The swearing councillor could symbolically represent Graubünden's entry into the
Helvetic Republic in 1799 as "Canton Raetia". (b/w photo, source: [b7b42])]
