Description of the flag

Two figures on the flag, an Aboriginal person and a White settler, possibly represent the community's past as a trading post and current history as an important agricultural and commercial center for the Southwest region of Saskatchewan.

Also on the flag there are forested hills, perhaps representing the picturesque region called Cypress Hills Provincial Park located about 30 km south of the Town of Maple Creek.

Established in 1883, the Town of Maple Creek, Saskatchewan has a population of about 2,709.
