About the Flag

The municipality of Bom Sucesso de Itararé (3,571 inhabitants in 2010; 13,322 ha) is located in southwestern São Paulo State, on the border with Paraná, 350 km of São Paulo.

Bom Successo de Itararé originates in the establishment, in 1929, of the village of Terra Boa, near the Junqueira Mello sawmill. The municipality of Bom Sucesso de Itararé was established by State Law No. 7,694 of 30 December 1991, seceding from Itararé. The name of the municipality recalls the successful hunting parties of José Bonifácio de Campos, originating from Rio Grande do Sul.
