Description of the flag

The flag is a white field with the county seal in the center. The flag was adopted in October 2024 alongside a new county seal created as the result of a design contest. It was designed by Nate Nickerson of Keyser.

KEYSER, W.Va. — Mineral County officially has a new seal.

The Mineral County Commissioners invited submissions for a new seal beginning this summer, saying the current black and white version they have been using does not reproduce well.

The winning seal, which features a color likeness of the county courthouse, was designed and submitted by Nate Nickerson of Keyser.

A “self-taught artist,” Nickerson says he has designed company logos and business websites, but his “true joy comes from making invitations for family birthdays, cartoons, comics, and the Safari Sam Kids Club” at his church. He gives God the credit for his talent. “Being chosen is a humbling experience,” he told the News & Tribune.
