Description of the flag

The flag of Montrose County can be seen on Facebook. Its flag consists of a white field with its logo centered upon it; specifically the variant that reads "EST. 1883" just below the ring. It was adopted in 2014. The logo it uses was approved on October 16, 2013 by the county commissioners and designed by Treefeather Creative. It was chosen after possible logo designs by the company were narrowed down to three and a public logo forum took place in July.

The logo itself is in the format of a seal, and depicts a winding path through a valley to the mountains. At the start of the path, a pickaxe and ear of corn are depicted, jutting out into the ring of the seal. Both are symbols of mining and agriculture respectively, which are important industries in the region. The images, in blue and white, are overlaid on a white circle. The ring is blue, and in its upper portion, the county name is read; in the lower portion the state's name is read. Two seven-pointed stars divide the names.
