In 1867, one star was added, representing Nebraska, bringing the total number of stars to 37. There were thirteen stripes representing the thirteen original colonies.

A 37-Star U.S. flag: Nebraska Statehood. 60" x 33" wool bunting flag with row
pattern of thirty-seven [37] stars: 7-8-7-8-7, appearing on both sides of the
canton through a peek-a-boo cutout. Entirely hand-sewn. Hoist at left has two
grommets and is stamped "X X Annin & Co." Valid from March 1,1867 to August 1,

A 37-star "flush right" canton variety: with a star arraignment of 8/7/7/7/8;
(50" x 77.5"). It is sometimes referred to as the "Nebraska Flag" to celebrating
Nebraska's entry into statehood with the Union on March 1, 1867, so official use
between July 4, 1867 - July 3, 1877.

double-appliquéd stars in an 8/7/7/7/8 formation. This star count reflects the
admission of Nebraska as the 37th state in 1867, with the flag remaining
official until 1877. Constructed of wool bunting, with the stripes
machine-sewn."

"Medallion" Centennial Flag (1867). The "Betsy Ross" circle of 13 stars are in the inner ring to identify the original 13 colonies, and an outer circle of 24 stars identify the states that have joined the union since that time. This flag was one of many that were made to celebrate the upcoming First Centennial.

7-1/2" x 11-1/4" silk flag with 38 stars arranged in a "Great Star"
configuration. Flag consists of twenty-five stars in its outline, nine stars
inside of the outline, and four flanking stars surrounding the outline, which
are slightly larger than the others. With gold-colored, silk fringe border sewn
along three sides of the flag. The hoist end is affixed to a partial staff.

"A 37-star American flag measuring approximately 62" x 115", reflecting
Nebraska's admission as the 37th state in 1867 during the Reconstruction era.
Entirely hand-sewn in its construction, the flag features wool bunting stripes
and double-appliqué cotton stars with thick points arranged in horizontal rows
of 7/8/7/8/7. The hoist bears an ink inscription reading "Father Mathew," along
with period stamps reading "10 Feet Long / Horstmann Philadelphia," accompanied
by the maker's imprinted eagle emblem, identifying the well-known Philadelphia
manufacturer."
