Description

Denny's is an American table service diner-style restaurant chain established in 1953 (brand) first as Danny's Donuts, changing its name in 1959 to Danny's Coffee Shops and changing its operation to 24 hours. In 1961 to avoid confusion with the Los Angeles restaurant chain Coffee Dan's, it changed its name again to simply Denny's. It started franchising in 1963. It also absorbed many former Sambo's restaurants during its early expansion period. The company was first established as TW Services, Inc. (1986-1989), then TW Holdings, Inc. (1989–1993), then Flagstar Companies, Inc. (1993–1997), then Advantica Restaurant Group, Inc. (1997–2002). November 3, 2025, it was announced that Denny's Corporation would be acquired by TriArtisan Capital Advisors, Treville Capital Group and Yadav Enterprises, a transaction that was completed in January 2026.

Its headquarters have changed from originally being located at La Mirada, CA, to Irvine, CA and then to Spartanburg, South Carolina Spartanburg, SC where Trans World Corporation (TWC), its parent company since 1987, maintained its headquarters.

In 2002, Flagstar Companies renamed Advantica Restaurant Group and changed its name to Denny’s, as the restaurants were its most profitable project. The updated owners’ and restaurant chain emblem
returns to yellow and red, without multilayer substrates. The name is written in bold letters with a slight arch, demonstrating the establishment’s friendliness and significant presence worldwide, combining yellow and red. Depending on the country, the main logo undergoes minor changes. For example, in Canada, a maple leaf is used instead of an apostrophe. The font resembles Titla Cond Black. The current logo is a two-dimensional design with the name inside a hexagon with two short sides and four long ones, resembling a flattened diamond, with white and red as its two colors, in use since 2019.

The flag is a red horizontal background with the logo in the middle.
