Meaning:
The well is representing former Vila Verde Commune, the stars former Barbudo Commune.

Vila Verde e Barbudo is one of the 12 communes of Municipality created by a merger during the 2013 changes. It had 7376 inhabitants in 2021 and covers 8,02 km².

Meaning:
The base wavy is a representation of the Homem River. The well is the small local well located on Republic Square (Praça da Republica). The grape bunches are symbolising viticulture.
