Coat of Arms

Shield Gules with base wavy of Argent and Azure, a willow tree Argent, eradicated of the same; in chief a parchment Or sealed Sable. Mural crown Argent with four visible towers (town rank) and long white scroll, as often used by united communes with inscription in black capitals "UNIÃO DAS FREGUESIAS DE OVOA E VIMIEIRO".
Meaning:
The willow tree (Port.: vimieiro) is a canting element. The base wavy is representing the local Aguieira backwater.

Shield Azure with base wavy of Argent and Azure, a pillory Argent lined Sable, flanked by two branches of laurel Or, in base crossed per saltire. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll (Bénard Guedes style) with inscription in black capitals "ÓVOA".
