It is a typical Portuguese communal flag, with the coat of arms centred on a plain yellow field.

Coat of Arms

Shield Vert with five corn cobs Or leafed Argent in quincunx, on central chief point a heart Or, inflamed Gules and pierced by two arrows Argent in saltire, on central base point a lyre Or, Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and short white scroll, in Bénard Guedes style, reading in black upper case serifed letters "TAROUQUELA".
Meaning:
The pierced heart is a representation of the local Monastery of the Augustine Order, which played a major role in the past of the commune. The corn cobs stand for agriculture, the lyre for leisure and social activities.

Presentation of Tarouquela

Tarouquela is one of the 13 communes of Cinfães Municipality not affected by the 2013 changes; it had 1041 inhabitants in 2021 and covers 6,65 km².
