On 1 January 2020, Lyngdal Municipality was merged with Audnedal Municipality into the new Lyngdal Municipality. The result of that union is that the new Lyngdal Municipality got new symbols.

Blazon: I grønt et sølv sirkelsagblad. In English. Vert a circular sawblade argent.
Approved by the royal resolution on 30. august 1991.
According to http://www.ngw.nl/heraldrywiki/index.php?title=Audnedal the saw symbolises the (former) forestry and timber industry in the municipality.
