The council informed me their municipal flag was adopted on 12 September 2024, but I saw it being used a bit earlier.

Coat of Arms

The coat of arms of Genaro Codina was apparently designed by Manuel Ramírez de Arellano. The council told me this was during the decade of 1910, but Genaro Codina did not become a municipality until 1957. Behind the shield are arrows remembering the Indians, at the top a helmet remembering the Spaniards, and the bordure of the shield carries in its sides the motto "EXURGE DOMINE JUDICA CAUSAM TUAM" [May the Lord's judgement resurge for your cause]. The upper-left depicts a tower for the Spanish colonization, bearing a flag to mark its possession, the lower-right a tree for the sowing of Christianity and its fruits. To the upper-right and lower-left are the Spanish stripes, remembering they conquered the area.
