It appears the council does not know regarding the adoption of the symbol. On a scroll: at the top, JUANACATIC 1862 is read; its year of foundation and original name. The local San José church dome is seen over the Municipal Building. Under this, a zebu bull remembering the cattle-raising industry and a pine tree for its flora. At the very bottom, the scroll reads the motto TRABAJO CONSTANCIA PROGRESO [Work, Constance, Progress]. Under the scroll is a ribbon that reads EL PLATEADO 1888; the year it became a municipal seat.
