The coat of arms of Concepción del Oro was adopted in the 1989-1992 term under Municipal President Oscar Pardo Limón. It was adopted by initiative of municipal chronicler Francisco Manuel López Flores; its designer was Alberto Ríos Cerda. Over a royal eagle, his wings read the motto: "UNION PAX ED LABOR" meaning Union, Peace, and Work. At the bottom, a ribbon reading REAL DE LA CONCEPCION. In its inner section, it depicts: the Temeroso Hill (today Cerro de las Campanas], representative of the city, and transmission towers through which mineral was transported in baskets; at the top of the hill the mining sinkhole is seen, at the bottom a foundry tube remembering the cycle of extraction, handling, and foundry of minerals during the 1889-1891 period. To the left, a Spanish soldier is depicted through his helmet and sword. To the right, five arrows for the Indians; this remembers their conflicts and foundation of the Municipality. In the center, a mining helmet, carbide lamp and a fleur-de-lis for the Catholic faith, since it represents the Virgin of the Immaculate Conception of Mary, patron saint of the regional fairs.
