On the obverse there is the inscription "Den Alten die Jungen" (like: [for] the old ones [from] the young ones).

The Association of Swiss Shooting Veterans (VSSV-ASTV) was founded in 1904 as umbrella organization of the cantonal and regional veterans organizations. The current flag was introduced in 1958. It shows the white Swiss Cross on red with the organization's name with silver letters on the horizontal bar, two languages on each side of the flag (obverse: SCHÜTZENVETERANEN | TIREURS VÉTÉRANS; reverse: TIRATORI VETERANI | TIRADURS VETERANS).
