The Shammar Tribe

The Shammar tribe originated in Yemen and migrated to northern Arabia around the 2nd century CE. Their ancestral homeland is the Jebel Shammar in the Hail region of Saudi Arabia. Today, they are spread across Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Kuwait, Syria, Jordan and Lebanon.
The Shammar are a Qahtanite (southern) tribe, descending from the Tayy tribe. They are among the largest Arab tribes in number (~ 6 M).

In the 15th century, the Shammar formed the Emirate of Jebel Shammar (Hail), ruled by the Rashid dynasty until 1921. They were rivals to the House of Saud and even briefly captured Riyadh in 1891.

Flags used by the Shammar Tribe

There is no standardized symbolism for the Shammar but one can find the old flag of the Emirate of Jebel Shammar with the name of the tribe "Shammar" added, written in white or yellow.
According to a Reddit page, youth in Saudi Arabia sometimes use the id 555 or f16 but I have not found any photos illustrating this.
