The RCC, the Rochester Canoe Club (http://rochestercc.org)
is a sailing club in Rochester, New York, USA.
Steven Powers of the
Rochester Canoe Club confirmed that this is a correct depiction of the
club's burgee. That results in the following description: The burgee of the
Rochester Canoe Club is a 3:5 triangle with on a very dark blue field a
diamond throughout, hoistwise divided white and dark red.
Steve
describes the club thus:
"The Rochester Canoe Club was founded in 1881,
and started with canoes, and quickly moved to sailing canoes (which is where
we get our name from). They then started racing sailing canoes, and slowly
other sailboats started to come down to the club and began racing as well.
When this was happening the popularity of sailing canoes dwindled and the
sailboats took a larger and larger population of the club. We have always
been a club centered on one design sailboat racing (racing against the same
kind of boat). Today we continue under this same tradition. We have Sunfish,
JY-15, and Thistle sailboats that will race on most Sundays throughout the
summer."
