The seal is a black ring inscripted with the townships name and founding year. At the top of the ring are two Indian arrowheads for the native tribes the lived in the area. At the bottom next to the founding year are two wheat ears for agriculture. In the central disc is a shield which depicts the scene of a small village with a church, farmstead and some farmfields among a hilly terrain. A Wideawake hat sits on top of the shield, which is a hat style commonly associated with Quakers. Leaning on the shield is a cartwheel. Under the shield is a corn stalk, another crop farmed in the region.
