About the city:
"South St. Paul is a City in Dakota County, Minnesota immediately south and southeast of the City of Saint Paul. The City has a total of 5.7 square miles. The City was founded in 1987. The first inhabitants of the area were Mdewankanton Sioux, who settled their village known as Kaposia in approximately 1826 on the western banks of the Mississippi River. The current population according to the 2000 census is 20,167." - from the City Clerk.
