Presentation of Gelendost

The municipality of Gelendost (16,741 inhabitants in 2012, 5,437 in the town proper; 64,652 ha) is located in west central Anatolia.

The new municipal flag presents a revised logo featuring a black two-headed eagle inside the outline of an apple.

The flag of Gelendost (photo) is white with the municipality's emblem in the middle. "Belediyesi" means "Municipality".
The emblem of the municipality features two apple. Quoting H. Yilmaz [Acta Scientiarum Polonorum, Hortorum Cultus, 13, 3-12, 2014]:

Apples can be grown in almost all parts of the Türkiye and apple production constitutes 9% of total fruit areas and 20% of total fruit production. 23.4% of the total apple production of Türkiye is supplied from Isparta province [TURKSTAT 2012]. Apple plays a key role in the economy of Isparta. In Isparta, agricultural land is 178 162 ha; 37 184 ha of agricultural lands is allocated to fruit growing (28.8% of total area) in province. Eğirdir, Gelendost and Senirkent districts are significant apple producers in Isparta province. These three districts cover 73.2% of total apple production in Isparta province.
