Presentation of Vila Chã de Sá

Vila Chã de Sá is one of the seven communes of Viseu Municipality created by a merger during the 2013 changes. It had 2512 inhabitants in 2021 and covers 15,7 km².
It was established as Fail e Vila Chã de Sá United Commune (Portuguese: União das freguesias de Fail e Vila Chã de Sá) on 28 January 2013, and renamed to Fail e Vila Chã de Sá Commune (Portuguese: Freguesia de Fail e Vila Chã de Sá) on 2 September 2019.

Coat of Arms

Shield Vert, issuant from base wavy of Argent and Azure a throughout bridge Argent masoned Sable, above two lozenges Argent in fess, on central chief a pair of scales Or balanced by a sword flamant of the same. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and short white scroll, in Bénard Guedes style, reading in black upper case serifed letters "FAIL – VISEU".
Meaning:
The barrulets wavy are a representation of the Asnes Creek, having its fountain in Fail. Sword and scales are attributes of St. Michael, the local patron saint.
