Coat of Arms

Shield Vert abased parted by three connected barrulets wavy alternating of Argent and Azure, at dexter a dolmen Or, at sinister a watermill wheel of the same. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and short white scroll, in Bénard Guedes style, reading in black upper case serifed letters "COUTOS DE VISEU".
Meaning:
The barrulets are a representation of the Asnes Creek, which crosses the commune. The mill wheel is alluding to the past watermills alongside the creek and to the importance of agriculture. The dolmen is referring to old age and objects of public interest. Furthermore the wheel represents the former Couto de Baixa Commune and the dolmen the former Couto de Cima Commune.
