It is a typical Portuguese communal flag, with the coat of arms centred on a plain yellow field.

Coat of arms

Shield Vert, a sword Argent hilted Or set in pale, flanked by two corn cobs Or leaved Argent in chief, issuant from base a bridge Or masoned Sable having three arches, Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll with inscription in black capitals "GUILHABREU".
Meaning:
The sword is that one of Gonçalo Mendes da Maia, called "O Lidador" (= the warrior). The bridge is symbolizing the aqueduct of Quinta da Meca, being part of the local heritage. The corn cobs are symbolizing agriculture.

Guilhabreu Commune is one of the 21 communes of Vila do Conde Municipality; it had 2357 inhabitants in 2011 and covers 6.5 km².
