It is a typical Portuguese communal flag, with the coat of arms centred on a plain yellow field.

Shield Purpure, two cheese truckles Or wrapped Argent and ordered per fess, in chief a pair of keys crossed per saltire and tied Argent, the bendy key Or and the sinister bendy key Argent, in base a basket Or. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll with inscription in black capitals "".
Meaning:
The crossed keys are an attribute of St. Peter, the local patron saint, they are also simbolising the religiousness of the local people. The cheese truckles are referring to the local making of dairy products. The basket is referring to local arts and crafts, especially basketry.
