Shield Vert, on a wall embattled Argent issuant from flanches a cross of Saint James Gules between two wheat ears Vert, in chief a winged lion passant guardant Or with nimbus Argent holding an open book Argent, on base wavy Argent a bar wavy Azure. Mural crown Argent with four visible towers (town rank) and long white scroll, as often used by united communes, with inscription in black capitals "UNIÃO DAS FREGUESIAS DE ALCOUTIM E PEREIRO".

is the only communes of Alcoutim Municipality created by a merger during the 2013 changes; it had 1110 inhabitants in 2021 and covers 231,17 km².

The arms are Argent a St. James sword-cross between two olive branches Vert fruited Sable crossed per saltire, in base two barrulets Azure. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll reading "FREGUESIA DE ALCOUTIM" in black upper case letters.

Alcoutim Commune was one of the pre-2013 communes of the synonym Municipality (q.v.); it had 921 inhabitants in 2011 and covered 131.5 km².

Shield Vert, in chief a winged lion passant, guardant Argent, nimbed Or holding a book Argent by his forepaws, in centre an apple Or leafed Argent, flanked in base by two wheat ears Or crossed per saltire. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll with inscription in black initials: "PEREIRO - ALCOUTIM"
Meaning:
The winged lion is an attribute of St. Mark, not the local patron saint.
