The Flag

On 1 January 2020, the old Åfjord Municipality and Roan Municipality merged into the new Åfjord Municipality.

The result of that merger is that the new Åfjord Municipality took over the symbols of the now former Roan Municipality, but so far I have no flag information to confirm this, only the coat of arms.

The design was approved by the royal resolution of 18 April 1997. The blazon is: I blått to fremvoksende sølv båter. In English: Azure two boats argent issuant from sinister.
