Located in Yokohama City Kanagawa Prefecture and established in 1949. The embroidered ceremonial flag has dark green background with a gold emblem and vertically written in gold kanji university name with gold fringe. The university flag has blue background with a white emblem in the center. The original emblem of Kanagawa University was decided in 1949 after an open competition. In 1953, the current emblem was chosen after another public competition. The emblem is a graphic rendering of the kanji word "大學" .
