Located in Joetsu City Niigata Prefecture and established in 1978.
The university flag has red background with a white and marigold emblem in the center and was adopted by Regulation No. 2 on March 8, 2005.
The emblem consists of two triangles, each of which represents "truth, goodness, and beauty" and "knowledge, virtue, and body," and in the case of students, it symbolizes the spirit of valuing friendship, cooperation, and trust and aspiring to be an ideal educator.
The hexagonal shape of a snowflake represents the location of the university in Joetsu City, Niigata Prefecture, which is nationally known as a snow country. Adopted by Regulation No. 1 on March 8, 2005.
