The university badge consists of a kanji 十 ten-shaped compass on a circular, with three zelkova leaves arranged in the east, west, south, and west sections, with the kanji initial of university 大 in the center, surrounded by a small circle and a large circle in the middle. The kanji ten-shaped compass indicates the direction to avoid misdirection of life's path, and remind young men of their ambitions, while the three zelkova leaves represent the three elements necessary for life: wisdom, love, and courage. The central circle surrounding the kanji character 大confirms the ground of the badge as a foundation for standing on rationality and achieving perfect harmony, while the four circles surrounding the zelkova leaf emphasize the need for greater rationality in the path of life, as well as for opposing judgment and devotion to truth and truthfulness. The university badge was adopted on September 25, 1965.
