At the Marine Biological Station in Aqaba there was another flag (unknown to me): a yellow ensign with the Jordani national flag in canton, and an emblem in the fly. The actual flag was quite old and torn, so that about a third of the flag was no longer existent (quite often there is considerable wind there in Aqaba). I only could see the rest of this emblem, and was not able to reconstruct it for making a GIF. If anybody knows about this flag (probably a flag for scientific institutions or something like that), please help me.

My first contribution on the FOTW site may answer Marcus Schmöger’s UFE. When I first read what Schmöger said, I began wandering what the flag might be. I used to think that the flag of the University of Jordan was a brown ensign, and it can’t be described as "yellow." But last week, while I was walking near the University of Jordan, I realized that its flag can be described as "yellow," and it may answer Marcus Schmöger’s UFE.
The flag of the University of Jordan is a Jordanian golden yellow ensign, with the Jordanian national flag at the canton, and the university’s emblem near the fly.
The emblem is described on the University’s website:
The University of Jordan Logo was adopted on June 3, 1963. Its dimensions vary according to use. The writing on the open book is part of a verse from the holy Qur'an which can be translated as follows:" and teaches you the scripture and wisdom." (Surah II, verse 151). The two pictures below the inscription represent two of the most sacred places in the holy land: the dome of the rock and the church of nativity. The flame indicates the paramount mission of the university of Jordan, i.e., the advancement and dissemination of knowledge. Both the inscription and the flame represent the strong relationship between education and faith. The year 1962 A.D. (1382 A.H.) shown at the bottom of the emblem stands for the year of establishment of the University of Jordan.

Nine years ago I reported on a flag (a Jordanian yellow ensign) that I had seen at Aqaba Marine Science Station,
In the meantime, Emil Avedisian reported that this might have been the flag of the University of Jordan. I checked my slides and actually this is right.
The University of Jordan is the oldest university in Jordan, founded in 1962. Since 1963 it uses a logo in the form of a shield, showing a flame, a book with inscription from the Qur'an, and two circles with holy buildings (Church of the Nativity and Dome of the Rock). The flag is a Jordanian yellow ensign with the national flag in the canton and the logo in the fly.
For the logo, see here and here.
