Dömsöd is a large village in Ráckeve district of Pest county, located in south-western part of the county.
Today's Dömsöd was formed from the merger of two villages, Dab and Dömsöd, on 01 January 1939.
There is information about Dab since 1313, according to which the Dab family settled there. In 1453, the Sáry family owned the area as landowners.
The village did not perish even during the Turkish rule.
Excellent fruit was produced in the vicinity of the village of Dömsöd since ancient times. Some documents derive the name of the village from this.
According to the documents mentioned in the Demsed, Dumsud, and then a document dated 1271, Gumschud is the same as "your fruit".
During the last Árpád dynasty, it was a queen's estate. In 1424, King Sigismund donated it to Borbála Czilley during the reign of János Hunyadi.
Dömsöd was owned by the courtier Dénes Kalmár. After the death of King Matthias in 1492, the Rozgonyi family became the landowner there.

The coat of arms of Dömsöd is silver, with a severed male arm with a red field bent at the elbow and holding a sword, with four floating green stars above it.
The outer decoration of the coat of arms is a golden-crowned knight's helmet in natural color, and around the shield are tendrils of vines with leaves in gold, blue and purple.
The coat of arms of Dömsöd dates from 1690. In the depiction of the coat of arms, the half-arm holding the drawn sword symbolizes the steadfastness of the population of the village, and the crown depiction outside the shield refers to the queen's estate.
The origin of the grape bunches surrounding the coat of arms is unknown, it was probably added to the coat of arms during the depiction of the coat of arms of a landowner family, but it certainly refers to the viticulture that still exists in the settlement today.
