The provincial capital is Port-Gentil.
Ogooué Maritime is divided into 3 departments:
- Bendje (Port-Gentil)

The provincial flag, as seen during the 2016 inauguration of the President of Gabon, is white with the provincial coat-of-arms occupying 4/5 of the height in the centre.
According to Heraldry of
the World, the arms symbolise the exploration of oil, the main source of
income in the province. The base of the shield shows the sea, as the province
borders the Atlantic Ocean.
