Description of the coat of arms: The upper part of the silver shield features three blue wavy lines; beneath them are three black ancient spearheads arranged 2 + 1 in an upright position. The waves symbolize the Kunda River, the sea, and the ancient lake. Beneath them, three black ancient spearheads stand upright, referencing the very early settlement at Kunda Lammasmägi. The silver background color is derived from blue clay. In 2017, Kunda became a part of Viru-Nigula municipality through an administrative reform.

The rectangular flag is divided into three horizontal bands: blue, white, and green. The widths of the bands are 2.5, 1, and 2.5 units, respectively. The standard dimensions of the flag are 100 x 150 cm, and the ratio of width to length is 2:3. The flag's colors reflect the distinctive natural environment surrounding Aseri Parish: blue represents the sea, green the vegetated land, and the silver band the limestone coastal cliff. In 2017, as part of the administrative reform, Aseri was merged from Ida Viru County with the municipality of Viru Nigula and was thus transferred to Lääne-Viru County.
