Gualaceo Canton was established on 25 june1824.
Jens Pattke, 14 August 2003
Translated from <www.gualaceo.gov.ec>.
"The flag is made of nin horizontal stripes representing the
parishes that originally formed the place. The colours of the
flag are green and yellow.
Green is a symbol of the inhabitants' hope in a good future. It
is also the symbol of the great vegetal resources owned by the
place. Yellow represents the agronomic and industrial resources
owned by the inhabitants. The colours alternate on the
flag."
