Meaning:
Fronreute was established by a merger of Blitzenreute and Fronhofen on 1 September 1972. Blitzenreute is represented by the upper half, displaying the arms of the Lords of Bigenburg, whose castle had been in Blitzenreute, in counterchanged colours. The lower half is representing Fronhofen by the family arms of the Counts of Königsegg, who had been part of the local nobility.
