Shield parted per pale; at dexter Or an eagle Sable, armed and tongued Gules; at sinister Sable a lion rampant Or, crowned, armed and tongued Gules; chief parted into six alternating squares of Azure and Or.
Meaning:
All elements are referring to former rulers. The chief is a differentiation of the arms of the Counts of Sponheim. The eagle is representing the formerly Free Imperial Cities of Boppard and Oberwesel. The lion is representing the Palatine Counts of Rhine, who had been one of the seven electors.

Flag and banner were approved on 10 January 1991. The arms were approved on 6 January 1972 by Minister of Interior of Rheinland-Pfalz.The seat of the county is the city of Simmern.
