Shield parted per pale, at dexter parted per fess of Gules and Azure, at sinister Argent, a bear rampant Sable armed and tongued Gules.
Meaning:
The dexter half is referring to the Princely Abbey of Kempten, local ruler from 1440 until 1803. The bear is a canting element, as the municipality's name means "shire of Betzo", an abbreviation of Bernhard, which means something like "bearproof". A local legend says, that many bears lived in the local forests before their clearance.
