Shield Or a bear paw Sable.
Meaning:
The village was mentioned in 1318 and gained the rights of a market town in 1355 and of a city in 1375. The existence of a local castle is proven since 1314, which was controlled by a local kin as vassals of the Lords of Kamenz. Pulsnitz was centre of an extended lordship since 1241, but the lordship was dissolved at the beginning of the 14th century. The paw is taken from the personal arms of Burgrave Hans of Wettin, who gained city rights for "his market town" on 21 May 1375, granted by Emperor Karl IV. The paw appeared also on the oldest city seal from the 15th century. The colours of the banner are those of the Wettin kin.
