The Departamento of Valle Viejo celebrated its 307th anniversary. During the ceremony, the flag of Valle Viejo was officially unveiled. The first Native Forum in Argentina took place in Valle Viejo. It was decided that the foundation day of Valle Viejo would be the 19th April, since this is the Indio-Americans' Day.

This information was reported by "DiarioC", published in Catamarca, on 19 April 2005. There was unfortunately no more detail on the flag.
