'Gerolimich & Co.' was an alternative name for ‘Nav[igazione] Gen[erale]
Austriaca’ of NGA as shown in the on-line 1912 Lloyds Flags & Funnels, no. 85,
first on this page:
http://www.mysticseaport.org/library/initiative/Impage.cfm?PageNum=6&bibid=11061&ChapterId=8
Included in the Austrohungarian pages since the company seat, Trieste,
was then situated in the Austrian part of Austria-Hungary. Red field with white
diamond bearing black initials ‘NGA’, serifed.
The same firm, now using
the family name only, in the 1940 source resembling the
Gerolimich version on FOTW with a green
initial ‘G’ however. Wedge 1926 is right about the initial (which has taken
the acronym’s place) but not the colour – surely the
use of the national (Italian) colours is not a coincidence. See
this image.
