The Bayswater Yacht Club, Long Island, New York, was listed in Lloyd's Register of American Yachts, 1906. Its station and home waters are given as Jamaica Bay, L I.. The 1912 edition of Lloyd's gives as its station as Bayswater, Far Rockaway, L. I. and adds that it was organised and incorporated in 1902. This is somewhat puzzling, as among other articles, according to the New York Times of 17 August 1889, the Bayswater Yacht Club of Far Rockaway was going to
hold its first annual open regatta that very day. query.nytimes.com/gst/abstract.html?res=9C01E2D81030E633A25754C1A96E9C94689FD7CF.
According to Rockaway memories the club was one of the measure to make the "Bays Water" building development more popular. www.rockawaymemories.com/Leiman%20Section%20IIIa.swf.
The Belle Harbour Yacht Club (www.thebhyc.com) mentions the club as "newly formed" in 1891, which would be a better match.

Its burgee is depicted as a circa 2:3 red triangle, bearing a capital letter B, surrounded by 12 upright five-pointed stars, all white.
In 1905, news about the club made is as far as the San Francisco Call, as a racing party at the yacht club, where the theme was played out with betting fake money on fake horse, was halted by a police raid, apparently also fake and part
of the theme.

The club appeared in Lloyd's at least as late as 1917. Lloyd's of 1963 neither lists nor pictures a Bayswater Yacht Club.
